This coffee cake turned out really good. I will make it again--when I do, I will make a little extra streusel and put some in the middle as well as on top. I added an oj and powdered sugar glaze to the top which made the orange flavor come through even more.
Very nice, easy to make basic. The orange flavor is subtle, and the cake is not very sweet. Good with coffee, afternoon tea. This is a pretty little cake, with the orange zest through it, and the streusal topping. I used skim milk and light olive oil, and baked it in a 9 x 9 inch square pan. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

I've been baking this cake for 30 years. Found it in a little magazine called Recipes Only. This is a fail proof cake, so easy and delicious. I made this cake recently and modified a few things and got "rave" reviews from my teens, their friends, my friend and her parents !! lol Try the cake with 3 cups of flour, 1 extra egg and freshly pressed oranges, increase the OJ to 3/4 cup and use the zest of 2 oranges, more for the cake and less for the streusel. It makes a moist, but firm cake. you can also increase the quantities for the streusel if you like. Enjoy !
This is a very nice cake with an intense orange flavour which is not too sweet. I didn't try it until the next day but it still had a nice texture. I baked it in a 9" springform pan as I thought it would look nicer round rather than square. I will definitely make this cake again.
Very good coffeecake recipe. Love the fresh taste that the orange juice and the zest has in this cake. Very easy to make. Mine baked in 25 minutes. Made for the "Shoot Now, and Talk Later event in cooking photo forum. Thanks for sharing this recipe, its one I will be making again.
I had this recipe some years back and lost it so delighted to see it here. It is a very good simple breakfast cake which is so easy to prepare. Nice to have a coffee cake with ingredients that we normally have in our cupboards. It is best eaten fresh. Also, I have made it by substituting Splenda for half the sugar. Thanks for submitting.
