This dish is so popular in our home because it is extremely delicious, easy to prepare AND healthy! I always serve the pork chops and sauce over hot rice, with rolls and a salad. It is one of our family's favorite meals.

  1. Heat canola oil in large skillet.
  2. Brown pork chops on both sides.
  3. Remove pork chops from pan; keep warm.
  4. In same pan, combine the brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, molasses and orange peel; stir until well blended.
  5. Return pork chops to pan; cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove pork chops from pan; keep warm.
  7. Combine cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into pan juices.
  8. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 minutes, until thick, stirring constantly.
  9. Add orange sections, and continue stirring another minute until orange heated through.
  10. Serve sauce and pork chops over hot rice.

Just a quick note from the original poster. I tried this recipe last week but left out the orange because I didn't have any on my surprise I liked it even better! So if you're not an orange fan, try it without. Of course, then they wouldn't exactly be "Orange" Pork Chops, but...well...who cares! They're still delicious!

I give it a high rating, because of it's crucial elements; quickness, flavourful and compliments many other flavours and no-one has ever disliked it of those I have served it to. It's also, affordable and one can almost always find the necessary ingredients right at home. SOmetimes I like to cook in some red onions or add chives to the orange slice part.
