This is the recipe for the original Orange Julep's famous landmark in Montreal,Quebec. I love these on hot summer days they cool you and are a great source of energy.
- 3⁄4 cup frozen concentrate orange juice
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup granulated sugar
- 8 ice cubes
- In a blender add all ingredients except the ice cubes, blend on low speed for 2 minutes. Add the ice cubes and blend on medium speed for a minute or more. Makes two tall drinks. Serve with a orange slice on side of glass with straw and if you have a mini umbrella.
- Note: For those of you who like a night time cooler on the patio or deck, add your favorite liqueur or try Pernod ,Rum, or Vodka.
I believe this is also known by the name 'Orange Julius Smoothie'. I remember making this way back somewhere a year ago. It was ok, went quite well on a hot sunny day in Muscat.
