Orange Julius

Ingredients:

Servings: 2

• 1 1/4 cups orange juice (no pulp)
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/2 cup milk
• 3 tablespoons egg whites
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 1/2 cups ice

Directions:

1. Combine all of the ingredients except ice in a blender and blend on high speed for 15 seconds or until the sugar is disolved.
2. Add the ice and blend for another 30 seconds or until ice is completely crushed.
3. Serve.

I thought this was very good, I didn't like the idea of raw egg whites either so I just used egg white substitute and I think it gave me the frothiness they were meant for. I'll be making this again, especially during the summer months.

I was looking for a julius recipe that tasted like the shop version...this is really close. I've been making a version for years that called for frozen OJ concentrate - its consistency was always more like a smoothie...definitely good but not the same. I've never put raw eggs in mine (yuck), so I omitted the egg whites in the recipe....still tastey.
