A sweet icing with a hint of citrus notes. Goes well with Gluten-Free Carrot Cookies.
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1⁄4 cup butter, softened
- 2 -3 tablespoons orange juice
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons orange zest or 1 1⁄2 teaspoons orange extract
- Beat all ingredients together, adding more or less juice to make icing proper consistency.
- Ice or dip cookies into icing.
Finally found a recipe for orange icing that my husband loves. The only cake he likes is Angel Food Cake and he prefers it with orange icing. This is going on his birthday cake every year from now on. Thanks katii for the great recipe!
