Orange & Date Square

Another favorite from the old family cookbook. Delicious with the dates and orange juice so complimenting each other making for a lovely addition to the serving tray.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time and mix smooth.
  2. Add Baking Powder, Baking Soda, salt and Graham crumbs.
  3. Add nuts and dates.
  4. Add orange juice and zest and mix well.
  5. Bake in a 9x9 greased pan at 350 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes. When cool you may want to ice with orange icing.
  6. Orange Icing: In a medium bowl mix butter, cream and orange juice.
  7. Add in icing sugar, adding more if needed to make for desired consistency.

I don't know why but I seem to really like bar recipes with crushed graham wafers in them, and this is going to be another that I will be making often. It is very good and easy to make. We all enjoyed this very much. Thanks
