1. We love my modified version...

I made as directed. I realized it was going to be way too hot for my kids, so I used a strainer to take out the crushed red pepper, which seems to have contributed to the wonderful combination of flavors even though I took it out. Then I tasted it andk new it needed to be a little sweeter for my kids to like it, so I added another tablespoon of sugar. Wala! Everyone loved it, especially my husband.

We were finishing a box of egg rolls from Costco and didn't have any of the sweet orange sauce that came with it... now we have a sauce that's even better.

Thanks!

 2. Mixed reaction in our household. Seems to be one of those love it or hate it kind of recipes. Very easy to make and went well with my Spring Roll recipe.

 3. This was really good and better than the sauces you get in Asian restaurants. I added more chili flakes for an extra kick and omitted the salt. DH is a salt lover, I am not, so if he wants it, he can add it himself. We dipped spring rolls and I poured the leftovers on rice the next day! Great! Awesome! Will definitely make this again! Thanks Countrylady!

In the words of Tracy Byrd, "I'm from the country & I like it that way"!! On May 1, 2008 my husband and I started a new adventure. We'll be living in a 37 foot RV while our new home is under construction. Its out in the country on a dead end dirt road with lots of trees. For the next 4 months or so, most meals will be cooked on the BBQ and life will be full of challenges! We love spending quality time with our friends & family - especially the grandkids!! The photo is 4 generations - my 84 year old mother, myself, my daughter & my youngest granddaughter - taken at the end of 2006. I've participated in many contests & events here on Zaar but this is the first banner that I've posted. My thanks to Dreamgoddess for hosting the contest & SusieD for the banner design!
