Prep time includes marinating time.
- 6 -8 mild onions (big ones, cut paper thin)
- 3⁄4 cup white sugar
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 cup vinegar
- 1 cup mayonnaise (or more - depending on preference)
- 1 teaspoon celery seed
- Mix the first five ingredients and let sit for at least 4 hours.
- You may have to double the amounts- make sure the onions are well coated.
- Drain and add mayonnaise and celery seed.
- Mix and enjoy!
