  • 1 cup tempura batter frying mix
  • 14 teaspoon onion powder
  • 18 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 12 cup water
  • 14 cup beer
  • 1 large white onion, cut into thick slices (extra-large)
  • 6 cups vegetable oil, in deep fryer

Directions

  1. Preheat fryer to 375.
  2. Combine tempura, spices, water and beer to make a batter.
  3. Dip the onion rings into the batter and drop into heated oil.
  4. Cook 3-5 minutes, or until a golden brown.
