What a pleasant change from regular mashed potatoes. I substituted butter flavored margarine and it came out deeeeelicious. Since my family likes garlic, I sauteed some of the onions with garlic and added at the end.
These are some very tasty spuds Mizz Nezz. What a treat, your recipes never disappoint, and this lovely recipe is not exception. Quick and easy to make with tasty results. The mash was rich and creamy and full of flavor. A perfect accompaniment for the meat pie and peas we served with it. Thank you very much for sharing your lovely recipe. Made for Name That Ingredient Tag Game.
I scaled this back for 3 serves and we did enjoy the mash but prefer caramelized onion for taste to boiling it with the potatoes but that again makes for an easier dish to make. Thank you MizzNezz, made for I Recommend tag game and recommended by Karen Elizabeth.
Loved the onion in these and loved the idea of throwing the onions in with the potatoes while cooking. Thanks for sharing this delish recipe. Made for I Recommend Tag.
Although I'm not a lover of mash, DH is, so every now and then I make it as a treat!!! This was a lovely way to prepare it, and we enjoyed mash with mushroom gravy and pies, yum, his favourite meal :) Thanks for sharing a lovely recipe!
I made these tonight to accompany Super Fast Salisbury Steak (Low Cal) and my, were they delish! It is amazing how much flavor a few onions can add. I didn't put in a whole onion...maybe 1/3 of a very large red onion. Instead of milk I used lowfat buttermilk, which also added a nice flavor. Thanks so much for posting; it is absolutely a keeper!
I think I would have enjoyed this more if the onions were cut up smaller. I also added more salt and a dash or two or garlic. Thanks for posting. Tee
Delicious potatoes! I think next time I might add a little sour cream just to make them a little creamier. The flavor was excellent!
mmmm real comfort food!love the onion flavour, we like our mashed potatoes a little lumpy and with the skin on and it worked just fine. I will be making these again, thanks for posting!
I made these last night to go with roast beef. Wonderful recipe and my whole family loved them! Thanks!
