"Men seem to love this. This is different than the other one pot dinners I have seen posted. Easy simple and the crock pot is always the best way to cook on a busy day. This dish is great for the winter on a cold blustery day. Tastes great, easy, what more could we ask for."

ingredients

226.79-453.59 g ground beef
340.19 g bacon, cut in small pieces
236.59 ml onion, chopped
2 (1757.67 g) can pork and beans
453.59 g can kidney beans, drained
453.59 g can butter beans, drained
236.59 ml ketchup
59.14 ml brown sugar
14.79 ml liquid smoke
44.37 ml white vinegar
4.92 ml salt
0.25 ml pepper

directions

Brwon ground beef in skillet, drain off fat and put in crock pot.
cut bacon in small pieces.
Fry bacon and onions till brown; drain off fat.
Add bacon, onions, and remaining ingredients to crock pot.
Stir together well.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 9 hours.
If using the 2 quart crock pot, reduce this recipe by half.

Very good, came out like a sweeter version of chili. 9 hours is WAY TOO LONG to cook in the crockpot though, it was burned to sides of my crockpot when I came home from work. Next time I will cook it for 4-5 hours.

I loved this recipe and use it as a baked beans recipe. I have taken it to a couple of BBQ this summer and always get request for the recipe.

This is very good even when it is a hot day! I am experimenting with dishes that can be done in a dutch oven for a Scout car camping trips. This one will be perfect for the kids.

I have always loved to cook. This got me into trouble with my wieght, because I loved to eat what I cooked. I am now a weight watcher, I have to lighten most recipes. My favorite cookbooks are Taste of Home & Taste of Home Light. MY pet peeve is boxed dinners. I do love simple and quick though. I have 3 grown sons, one is in last semester of college, one is married and a new baby is on the way, so I will be grandma in January. My daughter-in-law hates to cook, they order prepared food off the internet, that makes me crazy. ha. I love animals, but right now only have one dog. A bloodhound. She is so loveable, I would recommend this breed to anyone as long as you have patience, but they are one of the most loving breeds out there.My married son has 3 lab. retrievers,a baby will be easy after those 3 monsters, as I lovingly called them when they were pups. My oldest son has a Rottwieller. I have had 3 Rotts, they have all pasted, buy they are a really great breed. They are so smart and loveable, I guess that's why people who chose to make them bad, can do so, all they want to do is please their owners. My real passion is shoes, shoes, shoes. I also love jewelry, but shoes, shoes, shoes,!!!!! Update I am finally grandma to the prettiest baby girl ever. She was born on Jan. 15, her name is Mariah. She is perfect!
