I got this recipe from Kraft Canada, but I forgot to write down the title...my apologies to Kraft for renaming their dish. Whatever you call it, it's tasty and easy, and reheats well.
- 1 lb hamburger
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup salsa
- 400 g kraft deluxe macaroni and cheese mix
- 2 cups frozen corn
- 1⁄2 cup shredded tex-mex cheese
- Brown and drain hamburg.
- Add water and salsa.
- Add noodles. Simmer until tender, about 10 minutes. You may need to add a bit more water.
- Add cheese pouch.
- Add frozen corn and heat through, about 5 minutes.
- Add shredded cheese.
This was easy and everyone liked it. To add some thickness we did add milk after the initial water and I added some hot sauce since the pasta and beef really took the edge off the salsa.
while I was cooking the ground beef, I made the macaroni by the boxes, then combined everything all together, didn't add any extra cheese. it's delicious!
I loved the flavour of this, but I had to add more water and salsa than the recipe called for since it started sticking to the pan before the pasta was cooked. Very good though and the pan is now empty!
