ingredients
- 2 1⁄2 lbs lean stewing beef
- 2 1⁄2 lbs fresh green beans
- 5 -6 large potatoes
- 1 large onion
- 1 celery rib
- 2 bay leaves
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cracked pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- kosher salt
- 1⁄2 gallon beef stock
directions
- brown stew beef on all sides till nicely browned. (Sometimes I use bottom round and cute my own cubes) Place meat and pan drippings in an 5 to 8 quart crock pot. Add all ingredients ( cubed potatoes, ends snapped off gr. beans and snapped into bite sizes,) cover with beef stock.(I use beef base and make stock as I need it.) Cover and cook on high till meat is fork tender.
- You can add the potatoes about three to four hours after you start your crock pot, this way the potatoes don't cook away.

I eat too much but that's cuase we are all good cooks in this family. When I had my first knee surgery, my husband took over cooking and I would instruct him from the sofa with my leg up. He's become a really good cook.

I like to sew and and craft and every now and again I join the craft show in our little town.I'm writing a cook book of my recipes for my grand daughters so I'll have something to leave them when I'm gone.
