directions

  • Moisten the rim of a margarita glass and dip it in green sugar crystals. Or skip this step if you prefer.
  • Fill the glass with ice. Add tequila, triple sec, and sweet and sour mix.
  • Serve with a shot of amaretto on the side, and garnish with a lime wedge and orange wedge on the rim.
  • ( I don't know if you are supposed to add the amaretto to the drink once it is served, but whenever I go to Olive Garden I mix the shot of amaretto with the margarita and I think it tastes great).

  1. I was a bartender at Olive Garden for a couple of years. This recipe also has a splash of orange juice and a splash of lime juice. That's how I was taught to make it. Not sure if every restaurant does that, but the two I worked at in Alabama did!

  2. I love my margaritas, but this one took first place in my house. The Amaretto adds the perfect amount of sweetness. I like to add the amaretto to the margarita and stir it up and is a big fat 10.

  3. OMG this is absolutely to die for, the best rita ever.

  4. The olive garden has the best Italian margarita in the world. I always mix the amaretto with my drink. It tastes better that way.

  5. Thanks for posting!!! This drink is my ULTIMATE favorite. Now I can't wait to try it out ;) thanks again.

I am finally learning how to cook thanks to recipezaar! I haven't really made up any of my own recipes yet, but I have made a lot of the ones posted on here. Asian food is my favorite thing to make, and I also enjoy making desserts (especially cheesecake). I am amazed by how easy it has been for me to learn how to cook. I always used to think cooking was so hard and time-consuming, but I learned that once you have all the ingredients and proper equipment on hand it's not very difficult. I used to only cook stuff in the microwave or in the crockpot, but since I joined recipezaar I have been working my way up to more and more challenging recipes.
