Olde Vienna Bars

A chewy walnut layer dominates this lovely creation. A shortbread crust and lemony glaze holds it all together.

Made these bars as per the recipe, but with the addition of a rounded 1/2 teaspoon of lemon zest in the glaze! I love the lemony taste, but even with the zest it didn't over-power the other flavors from the filling ~ the coconut & walnuts, especially! Made for some wonderful tasting bars! Thanks for sharing!   1. For base: Mix and pat into greased 9x15 pan.
  2. Bake about 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
  3. For filling: Beat eggs.
  4. Add sugar, combined dry ingredients, then rest of ingredients.
  5. Spread over baked layer and bake 20 minutes.
  6. For glaze: Combine and spread over cookie when cooled.
  7. If needed, add more sugar or lemon juice to adjust consistancy.
