Old West BBQ Short Ribs and Noodles

"Another one from my bag of old recipes. Omit the additional water and noodles and serve with pinto beans for a change."

  • In a large Dutch oven, brown ribs in cooking oil, drain.
  • Combine onions, tomato sauce, 1 cup water, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce and add to ribs.
  • Simmer, covered about 3 hours or until ribs are tender.
  • Add additional water and noodles, cover and cook until noodles are tender.

  1. I made this recipe last Sunday and my family loved it! I did brown the ribs in a little bit of flour and butter first,it really gave it a velvety texture and I used red wine vinegar and a brown mustard, it's all I had. This is a really easy recipe and the aroma thru the house all day is just mouth watering!! I'll be making this again for sure!! lil'rhody

OK lets see...My name is Diane and I'm married to a wonderful guy -- going on 20 years. We have 2 kids -- 1 daughter and 1 son a 70lb german shepard, a fat cat and a very snobby cat! I work a couple of days a week in the Loop and the rest of my time is spent sitting at the kids sporting events. I love to try new recipes. Luckily, hubby will try just about anything. The kids aren't so eager about that, but are generally very good sports about it!
