Very good. Probably the best chess pie I've made. Of course, it's sweet but I think the mix of brown and white makes it just the right sweetness. I cooked the recommended time and then turned off the oven, opened the door and let the pie sit for about 10 minutes in the oven and it helped it to set perfectly. Thanks for the recipe!

Wonderful! Chess pie has a buttery, caramel sweet filling and this is exactly how it should be. Adding nuts would just not be right! :) My kids devoured this pie in no time but I did manage to get one piece. Used half and half instead of whipping cream cause whipping cream was not available. Thanks to you and your mom for sharing the recipe! Made for PAC Fall 2008.

This is a good pie, but too sweet. Next time I try it, I'll decrease both the white and brown sugar. It is very similar to pecan pie with out the nuts.

Great flavor; texture was quite nice. A very sweet pie which disappeared quickly. I think adding chopped pecans would be a very nice addition the next time I make this. Thanks for posting Lizzie!

THis was interesting and a bit different. I haven't really decided my opinion, you know how it is when you try something completely different. I'm definately going to try it again and see where I go. Congrats on the football pool win and Thanks for sharing.

Very good flavor, a lot like pecan pie. Which was also the problem, everyone who tried it kind of expected there to be pecans inside. Without the nuts it feels like it is missing something. Still tastes really good though.

I made this pie this morning for tonight's dessert (but just HAD to have one tiny piece to check it out). I certainly can see why this pie sells out right away at the Church bake sale. I think it is the best I have ever had. Quick and easy to prepare too. Thanks so much, Lizzie Abney, for sharing this. :)
