  1. Combine sugar, syrup and water.
  2. Bring to a boil and boil till it reaches 310°.
  3. Add oil and food color.
  4. Spread in a lightly buttered cookie sheet.
  5. Cool and break.
  6. Shake in a bag with powdered sugar.

I made this with cinnamon oil instead of the peppermint. It turn out great and was fairly easy. i poured mine into an 8x8 pan and when it was cool, slid it into a zip lock bag to beat it with a rolling pin. I ended up with good size pieces--sharp but to get not-so sharp pieces I think you'd need a mold or something. The powdered sugar is a nice touch. I passed mine around work and received great reviews. Thanks for sharing.

Made this for Xmas and wasn't really pleased with how it turned out. I had trouble breaking it into pieces after it cooled. It broke into pieces that were large and very pointy. i followed the recipe exactly but I couldn't get it too crack like it should. i don't think I would make again will try another recipe next time.
