Old Fashioned Vinegar Pie

  • Combine sugar, flour, and salt in medium bowl.
  • Beat eggs until very light, then add butter, vinegar, and hot water.
  • Add dry ingredients and blend well.
  • Cook over double boiler, stirring constantly until thick.
  • Add 1/2 cup nuts.
  • Pour into pie shell and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
  • Supposed to be "one of the most delicious pies".

  1. YUMMMMMY! ! I did, however, omit the nuts. They do not seem to agree with us old folks, they tend to get stuck under our dentures & that hurts. Otherwise the pie is very good.

I'm a misplaced Texan in Damn Yankee territory...SAVE ME!!! just kidding, although I do miss Texas terribly. I have found CT to be a beautiful friendly place to live. I love to cook and bake...but I loathe the clean-up. So, half the time my kitchen is clean and we eat out, or it's a wreck and we eat delicious. Oh well...
