This was a recipe that belonged to my Aunt Vera. She had a ton of great recipes.
- Mix all ingredients together.
- Place in oven at 350°F and cook until golden brown on top and a tooth pick comes out clean.
- (Do not go by time I have written down, go by the brownness of your cake).
There seems to be milk or cream missing from this recipe. Otherwise you get a bunch of flour with little chunks of butter in it...which won't bake up into a shortcake! I added about 3/4 cup of milk to give it a scone/biscuit-dough consistency and baked it in a greased 8'' round pan. I'm not sure if that is the right thing to do...since the instructions aren't clear.
