    Old-fashioned pimiento cheese for old-fashioned times, i.e., summertime family reunions, "supper on the ground," lots of kids, watermelon and home-made ice cream. (At least that's the way it was for us.)

      Blend ingredients well and serve on pupernickel or your favorite bread. Change the amounts to your taste. This is was made to be kid-friendly -- and is also a much smaller version than it use to be.

      DH and I had never had onions in pimiento cheese before, but this recipe sounded so good! We were not disappointed, it is delicious! I prepared it as directed by the recipe! We loved the onion in it, gave it another dimension of flavor! I did use shredded sharp cheddar cheese as you can see by the photo, but next time, I will use the fancy shredded cheese, which is a much finer shred, just for aesthetics, not flavor! Delicious, easy recipe! Thanks JKC!

      We all liked the flavor of this pimiento cheese spread. They even used it instead of slice cheese on their ham sandwich. The onion and sugar are two ingredients I haven't tried in pimiento cheese before. It added a nice flavor change. Thanks JKC. Bullwinkle.
