DELICIOUS--I could not find this on here, so I searched elsewhere and found it. This recipe needs your full attention while cooking. Worth the effort!!!!
- 3 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 cup white Karo
- 1⁄2 cup hot water
- 2 egg whites, well beaten (3 if sm. eggs)
- 3⁄4 cup peanut butter
- Cook sugar, syrup and water without stirring, until forms soft ball or a 6 inch hair when spoon is lifted out of hot syrup. Have egg whites beaten and very slowly pour hot syrup into the whites while beating at the same time. Continue beating until can hardly turn by hand and it looses its gloss.
- Quickly spread on buttered and powdered sugar board. Roll with roller carefully and spread peanut butter that has been softened by setting in pan of hot water the jar of peanut butter. After spreading the peanut butter on the candy roll and slice. The white candy can be colored green while beating for a pretty look for Christmas.
I have also searched for this recipe. The one I had failed more than it suceeded. Yours worked perfectly. Thank you. The directions were excellent.
