Old-Fashioned Mustard BBQ Sauce

"When we were little, a friend of the family used to bar-b-que chicken this way. We loved it! He used to make half with regular bbq sauce, and half with mustard. It was so good!"

• Yields: 1 cup

ingredients

• 8 tablespoons butter
• 1⁄4 cup lemon juice
• 1 teaspoon mustard
• 4 tablespoons parmesan cheese
• salt and pepper
• 1⁄2 teaspoon basil

directions

1. In small bowl mix lemon juice and mustard.
2. In saucepan, melt butter.
3. Add lemon juice/mustard mix.
4. Stir in rest of ingredients.
5. Keep hot during use.
6. Use this to baste chicken on the grill when chicken is at least halfway done or almost done.
7. Baste several times.
8. You may want to double this.
