My wife is usually the linguini and clams cook, but for her birthday I thought I'd give it a go. So found this recipe on my Kindle and went to work. It was amazingly simple, and with a little added ingredients like a few more pinches of red chilli flakes and a little extra fresh parsley and coarse black pepper... WOW! We paired with a hardy Tobin James 'Fat Boy' Zin, a nice garden salad and candlelight, and felt as though we were in a five-star restaurant.

Wanted something quick, easy and healthy. Substituted regular butter with Earthy Balance, used fresh basil and substituted vegan parmesan. Also used fresh linguine pasta. It was delicious!

My goto recipe for when I have friends coming on short notice. I let it simmer a bit longer so it become thicker and really grabs the pasta. This is a phenomenal recipe with or without the extra time.

although this is nothing like what my family considers "traditional" clam sauce, it was so delicious that we are sticking with this recipe. i use frozen minced clams, and fresh herbs. it is so good!
