An old custard pie recipe with so much flavor! Buttermilk, cream, sugar and eggs--how could it NOT be delicious!? Easy to make, too! A long time family favorite!! Enjoy.

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix first 8 ingredients together.
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  4. Gently fold egg whites into mixture.
  5. Pour evenly into the (2) pie shells.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until pies are set.

This pie is to die for! I had a little trouble with getting the flour to mix in with dumping everything together, but I just mixed until it did. I think when I make it next time I will take a little of the milk and mix the flour with it first. But other than that...OMG. The flavor is unbelievable. The best custard pie I've ever eaten. So many of them wind up tasting like sweet scrambled eggs, but this has a creamy perfect texture. I did sprinkle a little nutmeg on top just because we like it that way. It was deeeeeeeeelish!
