called SOS in the service, years ago...this is a family favorite.
- 1 (3 ounce) packagechipped dried beef
- 1⁄2 cup frozen vegetables
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons butter
- soak the beef in water for 30 minutes; drain.
- Using scissors, cut beef into strips in saucepan; toss in vegetables.
- Pour in milk and whisk in flour.
- Melt in butter.
- Heat over low, stirring constantly.
- Serve when slightly thickened.
- Serve over biscuits or toast.
