Fantastic & Wonderful Flavor! Used some of the recommendations: 2 1/2 cups diced potatoes; sauted onion, 1/2 cup finely chopped celery & 2 tsp minced garlic in 2 Tblsp butter; 2 cups boiling water w/2 tsp powdered bouillon; 2 Tblsp flour & water -- but still needed to add Flour to thicken -- I used Wondra (very fine flour for gravy). Added cooked/chopped bacon for last 10 minutes.

Let me say that this is one of the absolute easiest, economical, and delicious soups I've made. It's amazing what you can do with so few ingredients. The family absolutely loved it! I served it with some crumbled bacon and extra sharp cheddar as a garnish. I also added a lot more flour/water mixture (3x's, I think - I just kept adding until it was thick to our taste). Other than that, I followed the recipe exactly.

This is a great corn chowder recipe. I always add a few slices of bacon and a little cayenne pepper to add a little bit of heat and colour. Great recipe! Thank you for sharing.
Pretty good, very easy recipe. Was bland though, added some garlic and a lot of cheddar cheese.
Super comfort food! This is very similar to a recipe I used to make often and loved, but lost somehow. Needed just a few tweeks! Before putting the other ingredients in the pot, fry 3-4 slices bacon till crispy, remove and saute the diced onions in the drippings. Add water and potatoes, adding 1 T. chicken bullion, cook until potatoes are just tender. Add other ingredients, including the bacon (crumbled). So, so scrumptious!
This recipe is good, but I suggest a few modifications. I suggest using less corn and using 3 times the flour/water mixture. There was too much corn for my liking, I think 1 1/2 - 2 cups would be better. It wasn't chowder like (too runny) at all until I added more flour/water (mix before adding or you'll get flour clumps in your soup). Some personal modifications I made to suit my dietary preferences was I used soy milk instead of cow's milk and vegan margarine instead of regular butter. I also topped the soup with sour cream, shredded cheese, and bac'n bits (fake bacon). This is a keeper! Oh yes, almost forgot, I added 1 celery stalk as well.
This was fantastic! Quick and very easy to prepare - which always makes a recipe a hit in my home! I added a tsp. of chicken boulion powder and some cut-up pieces of farmers sausage! This is a great recipe that I will make again and again! Thanks for posting!
Great easy chowder, but made with Chicken Stock instead of the water. Made it a bit tastier I am sure.
I expected a soup like this to be (a) much more difficult than this and (b) much less healthy than this, but I was very impressed! Super easy, this cooked while I vacuumed and mopped our apartment. I used skim milk and it turned out great. Awesome, easy, healthy recipe. Boyfriend approves :) Thanks!
I love this recipe. I have made it abotu 5 times now. I also add garlic and salt. Then I either sub the water for chicken broth or add chicken powder to the water for more flavor.
