A friend of mine gave me this recipe, and its just like your grandma used to make.Comes out perfect every time. You can also substitute the milk for evaporated milk which makes the pudding even more creamy.
- 1⁄2 cup white sugar
- 1⁄4 cup cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 1⁄2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- In a sauce pan combine sugar, cornstarch and cocoa.
- Slowly add milk.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat and continue.
- stirring until thick.
- Remove from heat and add margarine and vanilla.
Very, very enjoyable - perfect comfort food.
This is a very easy recipe to follow. The pudding is so creamy and good you don't want to wait for it to cool. Emeral said to always add a dash of salt to chocolate, so I did. I constantly stirred so it wouldn't stick or have lumps.
