This is really easy to make and excellent on a yellow cake. Everyone who tried it asked for the recipe.

First of all, I don't think my frosting thickened quite enough, though I did try adding extra cornstarch. However, not a reflection on your recipe -- just my own experience. Second of all, this frosting was OUT OF THIS WORLD! I used it on my Godiva liquor chocolate cake for a birthday, and everyone at the party RAVED about it. The flavour of this icing cannot be beat. Very rich, sweet flavour.

What a fantastic fudgy filling! I am not rating the frosting part of the recipe, because I did not finish the frosting. I made the recipe through step 5, and stirred in 2 heaping Tablespoons of peanut butter. I made Darn Good Chocolate Cake ( Cake Mix Cake) as a 3 layer 9 inch cake, and used almost all of this delicious filling between the layers. I used Top Secret Peanut Butter Frosting to frost the top and sides. This was absolutely the BEST chocolate peanut butter cake I have EVER had! I can't WAIT to make this again exactly as directed for a yellow cake, or a peanut butter cake. Thanks so much for EXACTLY the rich, decadent filling I was looking for!

This is the best chocolate frosting recipe, it gives hope that there are still good ones out there! I did think it was a little runny but I did use 1 Tbs. shortening for every 3 Tbs. cocoa powder b/c I didn't have the chocolate, so it may make a difference! But let this frosting run all over your cake because it is GREAT!!
