Very easy to make and very moist pot roast. It was so tender I could pull it apart with a fork. I did substitute beef broth for the water because I wanted au jus to make sandwiches with the leftovers.

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 3 -3 12 lbs boneless beef roast (rump, chuck or round)
  • 1 envelope onion soup mix
  • 2 14 cups water

Directions

  1. In a 6 quart pot, brown roast over medium-high heat.
  2. add onion soup mix mixed with water.
  3. bring to a boil.
  4. reduce the heat to low and simmer covered turning roast occasionally 2 1/2 hours or until tender.
