    These are very good and quite filling. They also freeze very well. Garnish with powdered sugar, maple syrup, fresh fruit, or vanilla yogurt.

    Ingredients:

    Directions:

    1. 1
      In a large bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in oats. Make a well in the center of flour mixture; set aside.

      In a medium bowl beat eggs slightly. Stir in milk and oil. Add egg mixture all at once to flour mixture; stir until combined.

      Pour a generous cup of batter onto grid of a preheated, lightly greased waffle maker. Close lid quickly, do not open during baking. Bake according to manufacturer's directions. Use a fork to lift baked waffle off grid.

      Repeat with remaining batter. If desired, sprinkle waffles with powdered sugar, serve with maple syrup, or top with fruit and yogurt.

      These turned out great. I did add some ground flax and whipped the egg whites before folding in at the end. Thanks for a good hearty waffle!

      I make waffles quite often and am always on the lookout for different recipes. We really enjoyed these ~ loved the hint of sweetness from the brown sugar. Like one other reviewer I also added some ground flax seed to boost the nutrition. Next time I will separate the eggs and fold in the beaten egg whites at the end. Thanks for posting these.       Used this recipe to christen our new 4 in 1 kitchen machines waffle maker. AWESOME! Ate with fresh fruit, little butter and syrup for breakfast for dinner. Let batter sit for 10-15 minutes and were light and fluffy. Will share this recipe with family and friends. Lucky boys with you cooking!
