  • Combine apples with sugar, flour and cinnamon.
  • Spoon filling into pastry lined 9" pie plate.
  • Combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon.
  • Cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Spoon topping over apple filling.
  • (Pie can be frozen at this point, add 20 minutes to baking time, bake frozen) Bake in a preheated 375 oven for 35 minutes.

  1. The topping didn't work out for me at all. Had to add flour and oatmeal to make it crumbly. As written it was a paste like substance and wouldn't have covered the pie.
     
  2. This is my new favorite apple pie. Similar to a really great apple crisp. Delicious!
