My Aunt loves Oatmeal Raisin Cookies so I tried this recipe and added raisins. I didn't like the cookies at first so I added cinnamon to the dough. We all really liked the cookies after they had a chance to completely cool down. They are good with or without the added cinnamon. I cut the sunflower seeds down to 1/2 a cup and added 1 cup of raisins. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

3 cups of oatmeal seemed a little over the top for me, so I halved the amount...As such, I bumped up the flour to 2 cups...I also added 1 teaspoon of vanilla...The results were nice and the sunflower seed/oatmeal combination unusual...I can't say I'll make these often, they're just too different...But once in a while, for sure!

I was given a large coffee can of oatmeal with sunflower seeds. I will try this recipe but I will add 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 Cup raisins per the Quaker Oatmeal recipe. I simmer my raisins in a little water until they are plump, drain, then put them in the cookie dough.
