I tried real hard to like these but after 4 days they were still mush. The sweet was way too much.I followed the recipe exactly. Maybe there was something missing.
i add 1/4c.cocoa 1/4 t. salt boil 1 minute 1/2 c. peanut butter 2 or 21/2c. oats drop from spoon onto wax paper and chill till firm. i make about 200 every Christmas for family and friends.
I have had a similar recipe for years. I thought that this was grat, I added a bit of salt to cut the sweet. I really like making this in the summer....no hot kitchen from baking. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't really like this too much, but it did get eaten. I just didn't like the flaver very much.
I thought this was just OK .. I felt there was too much butter, I could taste it .. maybe if I added some flour plus oatmeal it would help .. thanks
This was very sweet, but, good. I also like to add peanut butter to it.
The hardest part was waiting for the batch to cool in the fridge before digging in. Very easy to make, but would be worth the effort even if it wasn't.
This is a wonderful treat and always vanishes in no time when I make it here at home. I use 3 tbsps. of Hintz Dutch Processed Cocoa Powder and 2/3 cup of Crunchy peanut butter as well(viz. in step1, after removing the saucepan from heat, I add the oats, peanut butter and the essence and mix it well). It is always nice to have some of this on hand when you need a chocolate fix;-)
