This recipe is a balance of starch, protein, dairy and fruit. A wonderful combination and taste for the morning.
- 1⁄4 cup oatmeal, 5 minute, uncooked
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon flax seed, grounded
- 1⁄4 cup fruit (any kind)
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- 1⁄4 cup milk
- Cook the oatmeal as per package directions. Place fruit in bowl. Add oatmeal, flaxseeds, milk. Stir ingredients together. Top with cinnamon.
Loved it! This is pretty much how I have started serving oatmeal. A touch of maple syrup was drizzled over the oats prior to serving. Made for PAC Spring 2012.
I love oatmeal and this recipe added some extra pizzaz to the brew. I choose plump hothouse grown NJ blueberries as my fruit. I also added a teaspoon of sugar and some unsalted butter! Made for Spring 2009 PAC.
