  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt butter.
  3. Add brown sugar and stir until smooth.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine flour, whole wheat flour, baking soda, oats and salt.
  5. Combine butter mixture with dry ingredients.
  6. Add egg, vanilla and dates.
  7. Fold in pecans and mix well.
  8. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  9. Spoon mixture by tablespoon onto sheet.
  10. Bake 12-15 minutes until tops are dry to the touch.
