    Islandlife's Note:

This is great in the morning hot or cold. I was at my cousins house, and she served this as a side for breakfast. It is so good, my 2 year old even eats it!

This was absolutely nothing at all like I expected. If I'd known what I was getting, I would have never made it - I'm glad I didn't know what I was getting! It's delicious! They're soft and chewy and almost cake-like, not at all like the granola bar I was expecting. Very tasty!

This was a quick and easy breakfast that my family really enjoyed. Made it with a mixture of both quick and old fashioned oats and added a dash of allspice with the cinnamon. Wonderfully moist and perfectly sweet. My eleven yr. old daughter poured milk on hers and pronounced it "better than pancakes".

Made these on 10/12 to utilize the abundance of applesauce currently renting space in my fridge. Used a mixture of diced, dried fruit in lieu of raisins/nuts, and quick cooking oats. The bars taste almost exactly like a hearty bowl of oatmeal, but much easier to eat-on-the-go. They are still moist and tasty today, and were quite easy to throw together. I imagine when I have children (someday, *sigh*) that these bars would make a filling, nutritious breakfast for them to take along to school.
