I am trying to eat more whole grains, especially for breakfast (the Eggo waffles just aren't cutting it). This was a great way to start. Yummy! Next time I might try to remove some or all of the sugar to move closer to my nutrition goals, but taste-wise it's perfect as is.

I think this was very good and tasted like a moist cake. I used regular instead of quick oatmeal and sweetened applesauce instead of unsweetened so mine was a little different, but very yummy! It was very easy to assemble and quite filling.

When I was a kid I went to summer camp every year where baked oatmeal was my favorite breakfast. I searched for a recipe as an adult and it brought memories flooding back, my recipe, tho, calls for a huge amount of sugar (2 cups) Yours was delicious with only 1/4 cup and is now "my" recipe for baked oatmeal. I crumble mine and pour milk over it with maple syrup....YUMMM Thanx for the recipe.
