Oatmeal and Honey Face Mask (For Oily Skin)

I ran out of commercial product and couldn't afford a new one. I found this in an old Molly Dye's book. Cheap, easy & works! Time includes cooling.


  1. Using a small, but deep, microwave safe container cook the oats and water to make a thick porridge. (Microwave approx 2-3 mins on MED.).
  2. Cool to body temperature.
  3. Stir in honey.
  4. To use: Apply to face and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse off with tepid water.

I am not going to rate because I did not use fine-ground oatmeal and think this might be the reason I could not make this work. I used quick oats and followed the directions. I could not get it to stick to my face. The little bit I did get to stick, when removed my skin was very soft. I am sure if I would have used the right kind of oatmeal, it would have be fabulous.
