Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Ethel Reiner.

This is a wonderful treat. It is very simple to make which is a real plus. It does not have a cake texture though, it is more like a chewy brownie. I guess you could say it is a blondie that is chock full of apple! It would definitely be good served warm with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream on top...not very diet friendly but YUMMY!   1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add the egg, baking soda, sifted flour, cinnamon and salt.
  3. Add vanilla and apples. This mixture will be thick and may have to be mixed by hand.
  4. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees in greased 10 x 10 x 2 inch pan.
