Oh, this taste so good to my scratchy, sore throat! I simmered the ginger and the lemon zest(I used orange) for about 20 mins. and added the mint(I used spearmint) after I turned off the burner and let it steep about 10 mins. I did use dry mint since that's all I had. My throat thanks you!

So soothing on the throat! First thing in the morning, when I want a bit of caffeine, I include a couple of black tea bags. My kids love it too.

This was perfect for my scratchy throat, I found that it also made my head feel better. I used all fresh ingredients except for the mint. Mine is currently frozen. I used a mint syrup which worked well in this application. I will make this again and will certainly recommend it to family and friends. Thanks for sharing your recipe. :)

Nice flavour though I simmered it for less time. This made me feel better while drinking it. I think this may help more for aches and pains in the body as ginger is really good at calming stomachs. I may try it again.

I've tried so many sore throat and/or cough remedies on Zaar and none have worked as well (except one recipe from Rita). I halved the recipe too, but should have made the whole thing. My DH said it helped his throat and my DD said it helped her cough a little. And they both liked the flavor, which is a huge plus. I'm having a hard time finding natural remedies for colds that the kids will take. Thanks so much! This will go into my Best of 2009 cookbook.

Excellent remedy for a sore throat! My 9 year old daughter is really struggling at the moment and I've been trying not to dose her up on too much medicine. She loved this and has asked me to make another batch in the morning. Thank you so much Miraklegirl :-)

Wow is this ever soothing! I've had a sore throat since yesterday. I saw this recipe this morning, and decided to give it a try. I halved the recipe as I was making it just for myself, but I wish I would have made the whole thing. This feels wonderful on a sore throat! Thank you so much!!

I made up a batch of this, cooled it off and served it mixed 1:1 with sprite- a great hit at my last party! One of my friends said it reminded him of something he'd only been able to get in South Africa and had missed a lot since comming back to the states.

This is awesome! It is actually helping my highly annoying sore throat! I only used about a 2in thick piece of ginger because that was all I had but it turned out perfect! I am never giving this one up! Thanks Miraklegirl

So good! Feels great on my sore throat and tastes great, too. I omitted the mint leaves, because mint doesn't agree with me, and used 3 tablespoons of honey, but otherwise prepared as directed. I'll be making this even when I'm not sick! Thanks, Miraklegirl.
