      Hubby and I really like our chili. I have tried different recipes in the past and they usually end up tasting about the same. But this recipe was distinctly more flavourful than others I have tried. The bacon also gives it a unique flavour. Thanks for the recipe!

      Excellent! I omitted the bacon (mostly to save calories), and decreased the cayenne pepper (used about 1/4 of the amount called for). Cooked in the crockpot for 10 hours. Super easy and delicious! I have also halved the recipe with good results - but remember to decrease the cooking time.

      Made this last night on low for 10 hours, then switched to high the last 2 hours in the morning with added cornstarch because we like it thicker. I don't normally like to eat chili, but this is so good that we each had 2 servings and were craving for more. We used chipotle instead of jalapeno, and baked beans instead of kidney beans - all because that was all we had then. Excellent recipe - thanks for sharing. We will be making this again!

      Very good! That's what I'm talking about when I want chili! We had it on top of baked potatoes and topped it all with cheddar cheese. Thanks for posting.
