zwt9 scandinavian wowser these are good. try with the sour cream and jelly ,these things rise like crazy.batter is thinner dont worry
- 8 tablespoons butter, melted, 1 stick
- 4 eggs
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cardamom
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 cups milk
- 1⁄2 cup sour cream
- 1⁄2 cup jelly
- mix all together.
- let rest 15 minutes.
- bake in waffle iron.
- spread with sour cream and jelly.
- they also top with brown cheese?.
These were light and had a great flavor, but I thought there was WAY too much butter - my ungreased belgian waffle maker was spitting butter out the sides as the waffles were cooking, and I ended up with 1/4 cup of melted butter in the drip tray. So, I'm sick and in the hospital, but my husband has been cooking for the ZWT9 challenges and for himself and our kids. They really enjoyed this breakfast and he said it was easy to prepare.
