- 946.36 ml flour
- 51.76 ml sugar
- 155.92 g butter, soft
- 12.32 ml active dry yeast
- 4.92 ml salt
- 14.79 ml cardamom
- 1 egg
- 56.69 g raisins
- 177.44 ml warm milk
- 59.14 ml chopped almonds
- 113.39 g soft butter
- 66.55 ml sugar
- 1 egg white, beaten
- 59.14 ml chopped almonds
- 78.78 ml pearl sugar or 78.78 ml granulated sugar
directions
- Dissolve yeast in 3/4 c warm water with 1 tsp sugar. Let sit 5 minute.
- Sift together flour, 3 1/2 T sugar, cardamom and salt.
- Add milk mixture, 1 egg, 51/2 oz soft butter and mix well to form dough. Knead 5 minutes.
- Add in raisins and 1/4 c chopped almonds.
- Turn dough into greased bowl and let rise 20 min in warm place.
- Form dough into long roll on floured board. Use rolling pin to flatten into 16x4" shape.
- Mix 4 oz soft butter with 4 1/2 T sugar in bowl with wooden spoon. Spread over roll, staying within 1" of edges.
- Sprinkle with raisins and 1/4 chopped almonds.
- Roll together to form long cylinder. Twist it and place on buttered baking sheet.
- Let rise until doubled.
- Brush with egg white.
- Sprinkle with 1/4 c chopped almonds and 1/3 c pearl sugar or granulated sugar.
- Bake at 425F for 20 minutes.
