    Directions:

      Cream shortening, brown sugar and egg until fluffy.

      Sift together flour, soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt.

      Mix with batter.

      Add raisins and walnuts.

      Drop by teaspoon on a greased cookie sheet and bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

      Cookies were way too crunchy at 12 minutes. Even too much at 10, Not the oven, I was baking all day long, these were the only ones that gave me grief.

      Love these cookies! I made them with gluten free all purpose cake flour, and nobody can tell they're not "normal" flour. I did cut back the sugar to 1/2 cup, just personal preference because I don't like it really sweet and the raisins provide sweetness, too. Thanks for sharing :)
