- 1 (8 ounce) sourdough baguettes, sliced 1/4-inch thick
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1⁄3 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup granny smith apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- 1⁄4 cup dried cherries
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons horseradish
- 2⁄3 cup blue cheese, crumbled
- 1⁄3 cup hazelnuts, chopped
directions
- Brush bread with 2 T oil and broil until golden, turning once, about 5 minutes.
- In a frying pan over medium heat, saute onion with remaining oil until golden. Add apple and syrup, cook 5 minutes. Let cool slightly. Stir in cherries, horseradish, and cheese. Spoon over toast and top with nuts.
