What an easy and delicious recipe. I really had to wonder when I sprinkled the flour over the hot broccoli and onions but I trusted you, Mirjam! =) I did make a substitution for the cottage cheese...I used ricotta and a bit of milk instead and it was fine. This is so good. I cut the recipe in half for the 2 of us. I still have ingredients for the other half which I will be making very soon. A great comfort dish. Thank you for sharing.
I make the same recipe only I use 1 cup shredded cheddar and 1/4 cup parmesan. I will have to try it with mozarella. (I would have given this 5 stars, but hubby isn't too fond of it *there's no meat !*. Must be a guy thing.
I let my 10yo picky eater choose something for dinner, and this is what he found. It was pretty quick and easy to make, and we all enjoyed it. I made it exactly as posted, except that I used Barilla Plus rotini instead of regular noodles, and I had to use ricotta instead of the cream-style cottage cheese (the texture of which my husband didn't enjoy, but the rest of us didn't mind it at all). For my family, I would use more garlic next time. It also needed a bit more salt, but this is probably because we used unsalted butter. I am tempted to try to lighten it up a bit if we are going to eat it regularly (and we are). I'd use less butter and cheese, and more broccoli. I'll post here after I try it again with and update.
