  1. Preheat oven to 350*.
  2. Prepare egg noodles according to package directions; drain.
  3. In medium saucepan melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium heat.
  4. Stir in flour until combined.
  5. Stir in cream.
  6. Cook and stir until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  7. Add cheese, stirring until cheese melts.
  8. Stir in ham, peas, and horseradish.
  9. Carefully stir in cooked noodles.
  10. Place mixture in 1-1/2 quart casserole.
  11. Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
  12. Dot with 1 tablespoon butter.
  13. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until mixture is heated through and edges are bubbly.

I thought this was great. This is from The Encyclopedia of Creative Cooking, edited by Charlotte Turgeon. I think this was my first cookbook! 500 cookbooks, later....
