This recipe comes from Melting Pot Potluck. It was put together to announce the arrival of a new pastor and his wife. Origin: USA.
- 1 (6 ounce) package butterscotch chips
- 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
- 1 (16 ounce) package chow mein noodles
- chopped nuts (optional)
- Melt butterscotch chips and chocolate chips in double boiler. Lightly toss in 1 large can (not sure of weight) chinese noodles and mix to coat. Drop by teaspoonful on waxed paper. Chill; then peel off paper. Nuts may be added, if desired.
These are awesome!!! My sister made these for an Easter Basket for me when my parents and her visited me while in school for the military when I was 18 yo. She called them haystacks, which is now what I call them. These are so easy to make and I did do it differently, easier, by using the microwave to melt the chips and I then added the chow mein noodles and peanuts. This was a wonderful stroll down memory lane. Thanks for sharing your recipe which made me re-visit these wonderful treats. Made for your win int the Super Bowl pool, congrats on your win!!!!
My 7 y.o. son and I made these over spring break. They went together quickly and easily, and the taste is great! :-) We will definitely be making them again! Thanks for sharing, CJAY!
