Non-Toxic, Natual Window Cleaner

"I don't do a lot of window cleaning . . . as little as possible, actually. LOL However, I recently decided my front and back storm doors needed a thorough cleaning. A quick perusal, of my cleaning supplies, revealed that I didn't have a natural window cleaner. So, when when I was in the "Organic" Aisle, at the grocery store, I decided to check out window cleaners. After seeing that they were costing around $3.00+ for what appeared to be mostly vinegar and/or ammonia, I decided that was a no brainer, and came home, to make my own. After looking online, for a recipe, and not finding one, that didn’t use ammonia, which makes me sick, I made up my own . . . and it works REALLY well!"

directions

  • Mix all ingredients together in a quart size canning jar. Pour into a 16 ounce spray bottle.
  • Shake well, to distribute orange cleaner, which tends to rise to the top, of the liquid.
  • Spray liberally onto glass, and use two microfiber cloths . . . One to get the dirt off, and one to wipe window dry.
  • NOTE: I prefer to NOT use newspaper, due to the ink, which could be toxic.
  • NOTE 2: If you are especially "chemically sensitive", you could use Castille Soap, in place of the Orange Cleaner and dish soap. The reason, that I use Vodka, instead of Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, is that this is petroleum based, and I am hypersensitive to petrochemicals.

<img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg"> I love to cook, but don't do it as often as I would like. Many times, I don't know what I am going to make, when I go to the kitchen, to make dinner. I look at the ingredients I have on hand, and start putting them together, to make a meal. I must admit, that my husband and I have shared some yummy last minute creations. The meals I love the most, are the ones my husband and I create together! Most of the time, I forget to write down the recipe, so it never turns out the same twice ;-D Occasionally I do write it down, and will try to remember to post it as a public recipe, from now on. Besides cooking, I love to make jewelry, and have finally started selling it on Etsy.com. My web site is below, if you want to take a look at my creations.
